Be Prepared
An unfortunate incident such as an accident or a theft can be a traumatic event. While we hope that you’ll never experience such a circumstance, in the event that you do, we want to make your insurance claim as painless as possible. Here are the essentials for ensuring a smooth claims process. The best rule of thumb is to speak with your insurance broker before, during and after your claim!
Before the Claim:
- Do not discuss a potential claim with anyone involved
- Generally, it’s a good idea not to admit fault.
- Make complete notes on all details while they are fresh in your mind. Contact your insurance broker to outline your situation.
- Your insurance broker will review your policy terms and claims procedures.
Making the Claim:
- Contact your insurance broker. Your broker will report the claim to the insurer to start the process.
- The adjuster will contact you to assess the claim circumstances.
During the Process:
- You may contact your broker at any time during the handling of the claim if you are experiencing any delays or are dissatisfied with the process.
